Why Miessence
Since the 90s we became very conscious about our future health and our environment. Locally, we helped raise salmon at the hatchery, and plant seedlings. We also started making personal lifestyle changes. We buy food from local farms as much as we can. Part of the reason for change is that people close to us, friends and relatives, have serious health issues. We realize we need to take better care of ourselves by making better decisions and better choices, and by becoming more aware of what we consume (such as food and what we absorb through our skin). When we happily discovered miessence has no synthetic chemicals and no harmful ingredients, we made our committment to switch. Susan Carskadon (US organic consultant) and Alf Orpen (founder of ONE Group) called us and requested us to join them in introducing miessence to North America. We joined because 1) miessence products are exceptionally clean & healthy 2) the business aspect is ethical and has a good income potential, and 3) with miessence we are sharing something that is contributing to the health of people and planet.

Our passion is for healthier alternatives. The promise of "better living through chemistry" has introduced everyone to man-made chemicals into our food, water, medicine and into products we use every day. For example, there are more than 25,000 chemicals in the cosmetics sold in the United States, yet only 4% of these ingredients have ever been tested for toxicity and safety[1].
